Yin yoga combines the influences of Indian Yoga with Chinese Daoist practices and Western science to improve health on many levels..An emphasis on long-held, passive stresses of the deeper connective tissues, Yin Yoga mobilises and strengthens our joints, ligaments and deep fascial networks.
This is a beautiful, still, meditative practice where we use props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks, for support. There can be some discomfort sometimes, physical and/or emotional..it is an opportunity to stay with the sensations of this discomfort with curiosity and compassion, enabling us to soften and let go a bit more, rather than avoiding or reacting in the ways me might be used to.
